Anyone remember that way to get amazon kindle books off amazon using some trick?

I think it's called paying for it?

So, assuming you've paid for it, or it was free, it'll show up in your account.

Go to Manage Content and Devices. Should be a list of books you've acquired. Select one, and in the associated actions, choose to Download and transfer via USB. It will download to your hard drive.

Once it's there, you can plonk it on your kindle. I use Calibre which is an application which keeps a library of ebooks and acts as an interface to plugged-in readers as well as a format converter. To remove the encrypted DRM, which is okay since it's *your* legally acquired copy, download and install the free Calibre plugin DeDRM (google it), and follow the instructions.

This is what I do anyway :D

SA Calibre is free too, search and download it. I love it!

I think you're talking about looking at the free preview and then googling a sentence with filetype:[favorite ebook format here]. I tried it out of curiosity and it never really worked for me but some anons here were happy with it.
