Curious, would it matter if it's 3D animation, or are you using 2D as shorthand for fictional?

2D was a shorthand for fictional, but the more real-life based the images are, the more uncomfortable I am with it. It's probably kneejerk because all most everyone can separate real-life from fiction and have boundaries they wouldn't cross, but I feel like more real-life based images would probably need to heavily reference irl photos of young people and I feel more uneasy with that possibility.

I was wondering because 2D drawings can be highly realistic as well.

"Cartoony and obviously fictional" I would agree with you about, the further from reality the better
