A lot of shows do this, even some of my favorite ones: when TPTB notice that 'will they/won't they' ship is popular, they start writing it in more and more until it practically takes over the show. Even when you ship that particular ship, it gets annoying after a while.

99% of everything in superhero comics since the mid-'90s.

The problem isn't even that it's blatant or ridiculous. It's that it's fucking HIDEOUS. I don't understand how most of the fanservice is supposed to be titillating at all. It just looks ugly, gruesome, un-human, and like the people are made out of cheap plastic.

I assume it's a parody on fanservice, which I suppose qualifies it as 'bad fanservice' while still being amazing. hahaha

That's mesmerizing, but each time around, I have this "She's gonna smother me!" reaction.

Empowered. Not only is the art hideous, but the comic as a whole can't decide if it wants to be a parody of sexy comics or just a straight-up sexy comic with comedic elements.

Mostly though, I just hate the art.

Oh man, cosigned. I know a lot of people like this comic, but I cannot get past the art.

This comic has a Galactic Pimp who rejects the main character as a potential slave because her butt is too big. It also has a villain who's perpetually on fire and rapes people's eye sockets. I have never read or watched anything with a less consistent tone.

On the other hand, bikini armor on male characters is fucking hilarious and should be a thing.

Reign: The Conqueror anime was full of nothing but guys wearing codpieces and no pants, like so. I'll always fondly remember the conniptions it caused in male viewers when it aired on [adultswim].

Well, there was a Xenosaga secret about MOMO and her panties a few days back. Well probably just about MOMO, but a thousand panty shots were definitely part of the fanservice.

You get the feeling that they tried to counter the heavily present slash subtext with very, very OTT ass/tits/panty shots and LUZ SO RANDOM nudity/loli outfits with Neko and weirdly short uniform on Seri. And I'm not really sure if it was done as an honest attempt to keep male otaku watching despite all the gay or as a parody - or maybe both. Because it's so overtly and heavy-handedly done that it's just ridiculous.
