I do remember coming home from school in 6th grade and calling my best friend right after DS aired to re-hash the episode.

And Trek, well, because Spock.

ETA: Now that I've thought a bit I can remember Romper Room (with Miss Barbara), and Merv Griffin. I think part of the reason I love Graham Norton so much is that his format reminds me of Merv.

I remember Romper Room. I got kicked off our local show for a disagreement with Miss June on the correct pronunciation of Pisces. She said it incorrectly and her producer backed me up when I corrected her. To be fair, I was really young (4 or 5 yrs old) but she kept saying it was Peace-eez and I knew it was wrong. The producer corrected her on air and I wasn't allowed to come back to the show.

She never ever saw me in her magic mirror either. :(
