"Alcohol destroys brain cells." (No, but advanced liver disease is bad for your brain.)

"You don't gain new brain cells after infancy." (No, brain tissue regenerates like any other tissue. You do get some amount of constant net shrinkage after 30, apparently.)

While alcohol doesn't destroy brain cells, long term alcoholism can cause dementia. So that myth is, in a way, stil possibly half true.
