Do you like your country?

Do you like/are you proud of your country? Complicated answers are good!

Australia. I think we're really backward thinking compared to a lot of "developed" countries, afraid of trying new things, new policies. Especially at the moment. Our border "protection" policies are a disaster. We let US soldiers and weapons onto our soil. People have become (even) more racist and suspicious. The easygoing Australian stereotype only really holds true anymore in holdouts like the Top End. That said, the place is beautiful and culturally there's a lot going for it.

Yes. I like and am proud of my country. I am not blind to its faults and everywhere can be better than it is but overall I am happy here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I wouldn't say I'm proud of America, but I have tons of affection for it.

I'm indifferent. I don't have all the opportunity that gets touted, and we're not doing well with the whole equality thing. There are times I'm embarrassed to tell people my nationality, but I've never lived anywhere else, so I have nothing to compare it to except for a general knowledge that there are worse places to live.

I just like our free speech laws. Everything else is either flawed or compromised by government interference and surveillance.

I'm from the US. I think that the southwest US is far and away the most beautiful place on the planet. The beauty of our deserts is breathtaking. But the beauty of the land is where it ends for me.

Yes and no. A whole lot of no really because I have so many problems with the US. Yet I still consider myself an American and don't really want to live anywhere else (although sometimes I think about moving to, say Norway). We're not the best country at all but we aren't the worst either.

Could be better, could be much worse. It scares me a lot.

I'm not even Australian, this just came to mind.

Ugh, Peter Garrett. Now part of the problem not the solution!

Leonard Cohen said it the best: I love the country but I can't stand the scene.
