(Anonymous) 2015-08-29 12:18 am (UTC)(link)I'm a fan of lots of things, but there's fewer I'm in a fandom for. But in a narrow portion of those, I do all the fandom'y things, I just happen to be alone in it. I do of course hope I will have more people joining me, but meanwhile I post and I write and I fawn and squee and have a great time anyway.
Hmm. Maybe the distinction is in doing fannish things actively rather than just enjoying something passively in my view.
How do the rest of you distinguish between being a fan and being in a fandom?
