It is your fucking responsibility to know the age of the person you're sleeping with. "Teehee of course I'm 18!" is not acceptable.

If a 38 year old tells you she's 32, are you going to insist on seeing her drivers license? Because that bitch might be lying to you, and it's your fucking responsibility to know the age of the person you're sleeping with.

I really don't get this argument. Whether someone is 38 or 32, it doesn't make a difference in the legal situation, so no, not going to insist on seeing her driver's license, unless she's a really really young-looking 38.

Like, can you not see the difference between having a bit more responsibility when the other party could potentially be illegal vs. being misled about their age when they are definitely not illegal?

are you supposed to demand to see someone's birth certificate before you bang them or something? (an ID probably wouldn't work a of the time if you met them in, say, a bar or something and they used a fake one to get it)

(Anonymous) 2015-08-29 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Should he ask for a birth certificate?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-29 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
He should have carded her!

And if she had a fake ID, he should have had the technology to detect that it was a fake.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-29 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, TECHNOLOGY? he was 20. she was 16. that means this particular incident happened 30 years ago. I'm not saying what he did was right but TECHNOLOGY? Please, tell me what technology a 20yo man should have been carrying 30 years ago that would have detected a fake ID. I genuinely want to know.

Also, you make it sound like people are carrying scanners around with them when they go out. Most people barely have enough room in their pockets for their phones, ids and some cash when they go to a bar. Who the fuck has the TECHNOLOGY to check a fake ID? Is there some app I'm not aware of that has the capability to scan a drivers license to check if its real or not out now? If so, link me up. It sounds useful af.

Yeah, but if they are lying to you and showing you fake ID then what are you supposed to do? Assuming they are both consenting then they should just run a full scale background check right then and there?
