Female characters absolutely get more of a pass for it than male characters.

I don't think it's a huge issue - I mean, there's definitely obvious reasons for it, some of which are probably valid - but it's probably something that people should be aware of.

That's what I'm feeling, though I've not seen enough examples of fictional female stalkers to state it with that much certainty...and as I was writing this I just remembered that one show starring Mo'Nique, when she was stalking some poor bastard to the point where it sincerely was not funny and I thought she might kill him. They got married in the end, too. What the fuck, network television.
