Uh, well. I don't think "everyone yelling" about this is underage. I think the stereotype of Tumblr being the new AOL Kids is overblown, and that a lot of the people complaining are adults. But let's say I'm wrong. Let's say that the people complaining are all fifteen.

WHEN FIFTEEN YEAR OLDS TELL YOU THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE PORN, WORK FUCKING HARDER TO KEEP IT THE FUCK AWAY FROM THEM.

Tumblr has a safe browsing option, and an option to mark your blog as adult if you post porn. If 15 year olds are enabling the "I'm 18 let me view adult-marked blogs" option, then that's their problem for lying.

I've had safe browsing turned on forever but I still get a lot of NSFW images because no one actually marks their blogs as such.

You'd be surprised how much stuff gets through that filter.

You can report blogs for it then that blog will be marked as 18+ whether they want to be or not :D

I have my whole tumblr blog marked as nsfw and 18 plus, yet some posts of mine in the past have been liked and reblogged by those who are underage.

There's not much that can be done about this apart from leaving tumblr entirely.

+1

Honestly, I'm an adult, and while I personally don't mind occasional NSFW pix, I don't like that people often can't be assed to bother LABELING their porn.
Let people choose to look at this stuff, don't force it on them.

As pointed out above, this doesn't work very well, because Tumblr is an extremely bad communications medium.

that, and people are lazy.

not a great combination.
