I don't think the american fandom was really ready to see the subtleties in that show actually (since anime has been mainstream in Japan far longer than in the west), and the character designs do lend themselves to that stereotype. I personally was extremely annoyed for the first half of the episode and then totally wierded out and repulsed for the second half.

Also, that Nevada-tan thing is creeeeepyyyyyy D: .

Oh, right. The first one ^^;. We were watching it in my school's anime club and we got through the first story arc (maybe two or three episodes?). I was pissed off because all the girl's voices were SO high pitched and their character designs' only variations were hairstyle and coloring, which just gets on my nerves. Then all the weird stuff started happening and I was completely confused and repulsed ^^;. Horror just isn't my cup of tea anyway, so I have no problem with anyone who does like it.
