I get this. I liked Locke and Celes on their own and while I didn't dislike their romance, I was fairly neutral about it. I think they had (or could have had) more interesting relationships with other characters.

I still wish Terra and Celes had been given more interaction with each other... They were raised by the Empire and seemingly had pretty complicated childhoods as a result so the fact that the game didn't do much to dig into that disappointed me. :(

I'm going off by really vague memory here though. I need to replay this.
