I remember hearing some TV stations refused to air Home when it was first supposed to be broadcast (I saw it where I lived at the time). All Wikipedia says is that FOX wouldn't show it in repeats. I do have a memory of my mom telling me on the phone that they were finally going to air that "banned" episode of the X-Files in her city.

Wasn't it because of the baby screaming scenes? I've heard that part was removed from some DVD sets.

That could be it. There was a lot in that episode that was freaky, but I can see why that would push it over the edge.

I think that was part of it, like the censors didn't like the idea that a LIVE baby was being buried, but a dead baby was aces, so they had to edit the sound a bit.
