Hmm, that's a good point. (About volume, and foreign films being subtitled.) Especially if you're watching at night and won't want to wake people.

Huh, why didn't I think of that. Foreign films would be a great asset if you had any deafness or trouble hearing.

And I am now mostly back to watching foreign films, since 99.9999% of (free) streaming content available is uncaptioned. Crackle was usually reliable, but the CC availability via my streaming stick is iffy, since the last site update. YouTube is hit-and-miss, and there are very very very few Livestream/Ustream channels I can find that play regularly AND regularly sub. So! I watch foreign films.

Whatever works for you! I watch too few movies in general tbh, and even less foreign films, so maybe you should do a foreign films rec post one day!

I'm not sure I've ever heard of Crackle before...I'll have to check it out.

Netflix has captions, but, well, you have to pay for that and they're also missing a lot of content.

Crackle. Has a pretty decent selection, and it's available on several platforms. There are ads, but they're not obnoxious/overbearing, and I could probably AdBlock them if I wasn't too lazy and rooted my streaming stick. Netflix is geo-locked here, so there's not a whole lot on it.

Netflix doesn't always have the best selection anyway tbh, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Still...that's kind of harsh.

This looks nice, though! I'll have to check and see if there's an app on the android play store...that would be really helpful.

Thank you for mentioning it! I'm going to bookmark it. It's always good having options!

(Do you have any favs on the site?)

YVW! I watched both Justified and Kidnapped series, and am slowly making my way through Sequestered. Also Throwaways is awesome and great, and going by how much you love Kingsman, then you may like Throwaways too. It's more snark than awesome choreography/SFX (more stuff blows up) but it is pretty good. There's a really wide selection of genres, and they change it up every month or so. Most of the movies are minimum 2 years old, but there are a couple of 2014-2015 ones, if you hunt around. There is also a search function, and yes, an Android app.

That isn't bad, actually. I have a lot of 2+ year old movies I would love to watch.

That you like Justified pleases me! Have we talked about it before when you were anon? There seems to be only a couple of people on f!s who are familiar with it, and the fact that it never gets enough recognition is a constant source of sadness and bafflement for me.

The others I haven't seen though, but I will bookmark this thread and try to get around to them! (Especially Throwaways, since you mention it in regards to my love for Kingsman. Heh. If the spirit of that film is anything remotely like Kingsman then it's probably fun.)

Thanks again!

Yep, I think we both talked about Boyd Crowder as fave villain...or mebbe that was fingals, huh. (My memory is nowhere near what it used to be.) I liked Justified on the first watch, because it was just so different. A second watch, hmmm, some of the OTT-ness was a bit much. (Just a bit.) Quarles' whole storyline was a bit -- IDK, tacked-on? Tacky? Seemed to come from nowhere? I suppose the Theo thing was foreshadowed, but still. Fridging Arlo the way they did was totally a sin, man. Totally.

Enjoy Throwaways, but make sure you watch it before Crackle rotates the content, which it eventually does. It's a Crackle Original, so might not be taken off, but still. Funny, smart, fast, starts off at a furious pace and never really slows down, and lots of things that regularly go *BOOM*. What's not to like?

I have talked about my almost unrivaled love for Boyd Crowder on this comm so many times, lol. He's pretty much a perfect antagonist as far as I'm concerned; no one quite lives up to him, so we probably did!

Quarles' whole storyline was a bit -- IDK, tacked-on? Tacky?

See, Quarles was a right bastard but I still liked him as a villain. He WAS a bit over the top in a way I didn't think most the other antagonists were, but I don't fault them for trying something different. He was definitely less interesting than Boyd and Mags though, but both Boyd and Mags were amazing; they raised the bar pretty high with those two.

And Arlo's death was shocking because of how quick it came and went. I expected something a lot more...well, dramatic, a lot more build-up, but a part of me thinks it's kind of neat because Raylan didn't get any closure. Which sucks for him (and is so, so sad), but it also works for the character. That his death was over and done in a very 'normal' way just shocked me. (I'll always love that moment where Raylan says "All he saw was a man in a hat, pointing a gun at Boyd." That was one of the most powerful moments in the show to me, and one of the reasons I found Arlo such a complex character.)

I did like that Arlo wasn't forgotten about entirely, though. Every mention of him was worthwhile.

I need to get around to that...I have too many things I want to do.
