Did you get through college in 4 years?

How often did you change your major?

I didn't.

Yes and I changed my major twice. I regret going to college where I did and my major. : /

Once. Got through in 4 years because (1) I changed it in my freshman year, and (2) I did summer school to make up for the fundamentals classes I had missed out on.

Yes, I never changed my major.

I changed departments entirely, from Art History to Psychology. Although technically I could have changed to Biology at the end, I chose to stick with psych.

4 years and one summer for the internship. I was allowed to walk in the May graduation even though I really graduated at the end of summer.

Oh yes, I did change my major when I realized that if calculus was required to graduate with the major and I couldn't even pass pre-calc, this major wouldn't cut it. Started with Earth & Space Science and ended up with a BA in Environmental Studies.

Nope, I spent 3 years on an AA followed by 3 years on a BS. My focus shifted from whst I thought it would be but I only changed tracks, not majors.

Yep. Didn't change my major -- my school allowed me to wait before I declared one, so I declared at the end of freshman year. Worked out fine for me, although I'm sure it was the internship experiences I got, not the classes, that allowed me to get a job that matched my studies/interests well.

I did, and yes, I did change my major (and added a minor). I changed a year and a half into the program. Luckily though I had taken a lot of generals, and a language that helped count toward my new major.

I'm still in uni with 2 semesters (this fall and then spring) to go until I have my BA (hopefully), and I'm sticking to what I started with.

I did end up basically double majoring though, which I didn't plan on before starting.

I did, but I didn't change my major because I waited a long time to declare. I think I was a week away from the final deadline or something, and I was trying to decide between 2 subjects.

Yes I took 4 years and my major changed 5 times. Wish I'd kept the land management one tbh. It's a minor instead. Regret wasting a couple of semesters on forensics but good knowledge to have I guess.

I ended up getting a double major btw.

No.

Like... 4 times. I'm actually graduating next year and will try and get a scholarship for art because it's my true passion and why the fuck not.

Yep. Graduated with the same major I went in with and now I work in that field. No regrets.

Graduated in 3.5 years, which was hella surprising because I had an emotional meltdown my Junior year (I made the Dean's List the semester I was seeing a counselor every other week; still have no clue how that happened).

I changed my major in the middle of my first semester so it didn't affect my trajectory too much. I just realized right away my heart wasn't into the field I chose.

I won't, but it will probably only take me a semester extra. I've changed my major once.

5 years. Stayed in my major, regret it liek whoa. Had to take an extra year due to trying to do the 15 hours+ thing. Couldn't do it, had to drop to the bare minimum to be considered a full time student and one of my gen ed courses WASN'T a gen ed, despite the fact that it was listed in the social sciences.

I changed my major once from History to Criminal Justice. I got through in 5 years (with a year off inbetween and a school switch).

Re: Did you get through college in 4 years?

(Anonymous) 2015-09-04 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
I did, but I didn't change my major at all. If I had, it would've probably taken me 5 years.

Most degrees in Australia are 3 years, not 4. I did a double degree which was supposedly 5 years. It took me 7 or 8 due to fatigue and life shit. I changed the major in Science from Physics to Comp Sci cuz I discovered that uni level maths (ie physics) bored me stupid and I kept falling asleep and nearly failed.

I took 5 years to finish my undergrad. I changed majors from psychology to philosophy in the middle of my fourth year, so I had to take an extra year to finish that up.

I win. 10 years at uni and still writing my final thesis. (Master's degree equivalent though so I guess it doesn't count?) Never changed my major. HAd a kid though.

Props for the kid. That will fuck up your life for a while. (Popped out a couple myself, can't think of much else yet.) Great you are still going at it, good luck finishing!
