And was it at all accurate or not?

Not necessarily insulting, mind you, just like, a really strange comparison, or something like that.

Someone once told me I reminded them of Helen Mirren.

I'm a dude. And I was 24 or 25 at the time.

They probably meant facial bone structure or something, but wtf.

Some guy I didn't know once stopped me in the mall and told me my eyes looked stoned.

A hairdresser once told me that I had the perfect head shape for a mohawk. I never tested the theory.

'You look like a bottom'

Someone once told me I looked like an anime character.

I guess I get what she meant (huge eyes, tiny mouth, pointy chin) but that seriously would not be what popped into my mind if I saw someone who looked like me.

But did you also have spiky blue hair?

Well, I am a girl, and I think anime girls tend to have more normal hair than boys. ;)

I think, if I saw someone who looked like me, my first thought would be, "Holy shit that person looks exactly like me"

After my horse kicked a rake handle into my face, giving me a fat lip on one side, my drunk friend found a new game to play with my head:

You don't sound black.

I'm white and a black guy told me he didn't usually find white women attractive but he found me attractive because "you got a body like a black girl". No one ever said that to me before, including the black guy I dated for years.

A woman in a bar walked up to me, started to give me a hug—and then leaped back and screamed before scurrying back to the other side of the bar.

She thought I was my sister.

Does that count? I thought it was pretty weird at the time.

Once while I was in the elevators at work someone got at mad at me for not understanding Spanish, saying I was a disgrace to my culture. Because... apparently brown curly hair automatically equals Spanish speaking.

It was very perplexing and out of left field.

People are stupid.

(I know what they were trying to convey, but it was still really odd.)

I was growing out my bangs, and so at work i was wearing an Alice-type headband, and i had glasses at that point, and they told me i looked like Geddy Lee, of RUSH.

Very odd.

Not about my appearance per se, but I was once told that I have a very 'sincere' laugh. I'm still not sure what was meant by that.

It means your laugh doesn't sound like those fucking annoying tics a lot people tend to develop, where they laugh in this weird fake automatic way at all kinds of statements.

Once, a girl from school told me that "you actually have a real pointy chin, just like those manga characters you always draw!". Also at school: "Oh hey, today you look really dead again". Gee thanks.

And once on a train, a little girl pointed at me and told her mom in a very excited tone:"Look mom, that girl has hair like Barbie!". That was kinda cute.

Oh, and one of my mother's friends accused me of practising my facial expressions in front of a mirror. She couldn't believe that arching one eyebrow could be done without training or sonething.
