Most of society who accepts the average dude/hot woman pairing but not the reverse (i.e. "assholes") will agree with you, anon, making your comment way less edgy than you seem to believe it is.

No kidding. The average dude 'deserves' the super-hot chick is a trope in so many movies and so many TV shows. I haven't seen the show this secret references, but it's the first incidence of the reverse - hot guy/average gal - that I can remember seeing at all.

Right? Most of the time when Hollywood attempts it, they go for this ugly duckling scenario where a gorgeous actress puts on glasses, unflattering clothes and messy hair. They rarely actually go for someone who isn't a model in disguise, and the transformation from frumpy chick to hot chick is always a major plot point because the woman might (might!) start off as unattractive and awkward, but she can't end up the movie that way.
