(Anonymous) 2015-09-06 12:47 am (UTC)(link)When it comes to fanfiction, the real agents are the writer and reader, not the characters. The reader wants to live vicariously through the characters or enjoy them voyeuristically; either way, you get off to the idea of being able to shed the too-tight skin of the superego and wallow in the totally carnal delights of the id. In a recent thread -- perhaps on here, or maybe it was on tumblr -- someone was saying that readers and writers of this kind of fic tend to imagine things from the point of view of the woman (/coerced character). In that case, the reader really, really WANTS to be coerced, and the fic allows that to happen in a controlled setting (the "control" being that you know it's going to be great, you know there are no real-world consequences for your surrender, and everybody goes home happy).
I hope that was halfway coherent....
