Thank you for this post. Anything from the parents' perspective is appreciated :) It's not exactly about college - just about toxic behavioural patterns that have to do with the parents' own anxieties and insecurities.

I'm not looking for advice for myself, thankfully! My familial relationships are basically non-existent.

The advice to write things out sounds like it may be useful - duly noted.

And of course many overly anxious parents just want what they think is best for their child. They don't come from a place of malice. I hope that you and your daughter can work things out, and that you feel better soon.
