(Anonymous) 2015-09-08 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)I've been called "skinny" when according to my weight and BMI I'm right in the middle of the healthy/normal range (I'm around a 21, so right in the middle and not on the lower end). I'm not skinny - I have definite curves and a butt. I'm just not overweight.
These days, a lot of people use "skinny" to refer to anyone who isn't fat, which distorts the meaning of the word. Not fat =/= skinny by default.
