I'm specially curious about OP's thoughts on the "you must reblog my art and spam your readers with it because without that we don't feel appreciated!" movement. Or that's ok because it counts as a rec?

There's a "movement" for that in fic-dom too. It's kind of annoying tbh.

I think that "movement" mostly started in response to all the "you must reblog fanart!!" posts. Ficcers felt left out, so they started to promote that too.
The whole thing is part of the issue with tumblr as a platform...
Yeah, their both really annoying, but at the same time, I kind of get it. If you rely on exposure, people just liking isn't going to help the fic get attention.

i get it too, but I write fic and post links on tumblr and I don't care if people reblog it because they aren't obligated to. Some of the posts I read about this seem so entitled.
