I never paid much attention to the fandom (not because the fans are terrible either), but I don't think there's anything wrong with people saying they love the show and wish it hadn't been canceled. That's a perfectly valid and reasonable thing for a fan to say.

I mean, do you want to hear that all day every day for the rest of your life? Nah, I would imagine not, but bringing it up every once in a while isn't so bad. I feel this way about other pieces of media. (Not Firefly. I loved what little there is of Firefly, but after having heard of the plans Whedon had for the future of the show I'm not sad about the cancellation.)
