I don't see why it matters as long as you're enjoying yourself!

I ship a bit of everything but for me it's about the specific characters and their chemistry; I don't care if it's m/m, m/f or f/f as long as it appeals to me.

However, I do find that the pairings I get most into are typically slash ships. (In my experience they tend to be more popular, and if I already like a pairing that there's tons of fanworks for I'm likely to stick around longer and participate in the fandom more.)
