The fallout fandom is so reactionary and sour. Like, Fallout 4 is homophobic because the intro section (where you create your character) features a het couple and you are creating their baby? I do not get it at all.

Is it a rule that you can't play as gay later? If so then that's bad. That's also not likely to happen because SJWs would tear Bethesda to pieces and I wouldn't stop them. Also, a lot of straight dudes like to play as women and enjoy the lesbian romances (more power and no shame to them for enjoying their game that way) so there would be another side of gaming who'd be upset.

you're creating your character and your character's opposite sex partner, which since fallout was harping about character creation IS pretty shitty to start everyone's character off in a her relationship with kids

This. For me, it was mainly the way they kept harping on and on about "oooh individual character creation is our TOP priority! Nothing is more important to us than your individual choices when it comes to your character! Individuality!! But you're in a straight relationship and have a kid lolthanksbye!".

That was just weird. It's one thing to have a straight/kid combo if you're playing a pre-existing character. But in an RPG with free character creation? I'd rather not. It's not even the straight relationship - I could easily headcanon a character as bi. But I'm really miffed about having a kid.
It's also a step back from the old games (perks in New Vegas).
