Yeah. I mean in the LJ format, at the end of the day a lot of people did still check the comms, I think. Recs helped, but the comms were moderated and a major hub of activity. So people might not necessarily click on your links as often without recs, but you could still at least be *seen*, which is a start.

I've also noticed on tumblr that it seems like very few people check the major tags, in part because they're so easily spammed.
