I wonder if this also explains why, nearly every time I have slipped on an icy sidewalk at my school, or tried to open a door while carrying a ginormous pile of books, or been in a similar situation, it has been a black guy who helped me out. Although it could also be, as another anon has suggested, that many black people are brought up to be community-oriented and to be kind to strangers.
