TBH by now any Firefly fans still stanning for a Season 2 are being more than a bit silly. "Serenity" really wrapped things up nicely and I don't see that there'd be any point to clamoring for any more FF.

As it is, I like it, but eh, other shows are out there too. :)

I'd like to see a Season Two which had the Alliance hunting down the Serenity crew, killing them one by one, series ending with Mal in a window less and pictureless prison cell awaiting his treatment with Pax2 to turn him into a good citizen.

Pax2, oh yeah. You see in the real world whenever there is a disaster that costs a lot of lives it very rarely ends with whatever that caused the loss of those lives to be shelved. No, there is a big hue and cry about how those lives must not be lost in vain. There would be a big media blitz on the ongoing problems in the outlying planets, a big media outrage on the loss of soldiers lives caused by Mal and crew leading the reivers into them (hell, can you imagine a smuggler causing such a massacre of US troops, they'd be murdered even worse than Bin Laden was), and a demand that a revamped Pax without the side effects be brought into being.

So yeah, the series really ends with Serenity vaporized, the crew mostly dead, and Mal about to be lobotomized. Who says you can't take the sky from someone if you put your mind to it. Aim to behave.

Well, some of what happened in that battle is due to the movie having the over-the-top character of an action movie.

That said, Mal led a paramilitary terrorist group into a military engagement. That's not exactly September 11.

I mean, he baited terrorists. Obviously he wasn't commanding them, just manipulating them.

I'm not sure the Reavers count as terrorists. The Operative might, though.

The Operative was a legitimate government actor until he sided with the terrorists at the end instead of seeing the mission through. He had the mandate, and was in the right. Mal was a criminal, a terrorist, and a traitor, just like the Jihadi Joes who go to fight in Iraq against American troops.

So you're an authoritarian who denies that states can be terrorists?
