Ah, speaking of "Sex and the City" - what ever happened to foot-face? Did she finally transition into a horse?

(Anonymous) 2015-09-11 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
edgy and original!~

(Anonymous) 2015-09-11 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno, I thought it was funny.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
We know you did, Seth MacFarlane. That's why you've used it like eight times already.

Lmao.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
it's funny because her face looks like a foot

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
She's still hotter than you.

This is a weird sort of bitterness I don't quite get. I guess because I'm resigned to being mundane and boring so I don't get bitter about fantastic dreams of a life I'll never have.

This is a weird sort of comment I don't quite get, I guess because you come off as quite patronizing to people who still have aspirations and aren't as resigned as you are to never achieving them.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
How is that patronising? Good god.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
To me, the comment gave off a vibe of world-weary superiority--something like "teehee, you still have hopes and dreams, how cute!"

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
It came off as self-deprecating with a dash of bitterness to me. *shrug*

Lmao, I legit love this comment.

I certainly don't mean to be patronizing, but we can't all achieve our dreams. Though, I suppose it's still good to have them. Maybe I'm just so chronically bitter that it doesn't even register anymore. That's more likely the case.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-11 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I go through stretches of time where I feel bitter listening to bands I like because I know I'll probably never be in a band, let alone a good one, so I feel you, OP.

Are you looking to be an playwright, actor, or director or something like that? I can see why that might seem like a daunting task that takes a lot of hard work and luck to achieve. However, aren't there a bunch of small jobs out there for people to do? Like, being a PA or something? Is it that hard to do? Then again, I know nothing about the film industry so I may be naive and different jobs like that are hard to fall into or are from knowing-someone-who-knows-someone and pages and pages of previous experience. *shrug

More movies are being made today than at any time in history. The movie I wrote became the pet project of a producer/director and now it's available online and it only took ten years. Your odds of being involved in a movie are better than they've ever been.

A GOOD movie, that I can't promise.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
What movie is that? I'm curious!

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Just between you and me, it's this: https://youtu.be/YFL3dpwEgLQ

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Are those scripts examples of good or mediocre ones?

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
not to dogpile on sex & the city, but if that's in the mix, it can't be a good mix.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
The quality of a script is not a good predictor of the quality of the movie made from it. Lots of terrible films have been made from great scripts.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
The quality of a script is not *always* a good predictor of the quality of the movie. I worked on a film with a terrible script and it turned out to be a very very terrible movie.

I'd be curious to know what terrible films you think were made from great scripts.

Yeah...

(Anonymous) 2015-09-12 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
...I understand that.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-13 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I don't understand this secret. Are you currently working in the industry, or at the least perusing education (school, making your own shorts, creating content for YouTube etc.)?

If you're just sitting around watching movies, but making zero effort towards becoming a film maker then, okay, your right, chances are non existent that you'll ever be a part of a film/enjoyable film. Good luck on your future Secret making endeavors.

The reality is, anyone who puts any sort of effort into learning the craft will make a movie. If film making (and I mean all aspects of it: writing, directing, acting, production) is your craft, eventually you'll end up on an 'enjoyable' project of some sort.
