Was it bad? I have a friend that wants to force me to watch them with her (I've seen up through 8), and it was ALREADY pretty uncomfortable for me. Does it really go for it now?

They're never gonna be gay but the show is intent on teasing the audience because it's the only reason people still tune in.

It's really, really bad and aggravating.

The only characters on the show that fans ship because of how they interact/stuff you might label as queerbaiting haven't really had a lot of scenes together in the last couple seasons. (Dean and Castiel)

One episode in particular blatantly dealt with fandom and shipping by having 'Dean' say 'i don't agree with your interpretation, but you do, and that's cool'.

So i'd say it's up to you. The 'let's write them as if they might be together, giggle/snort' scenes just...aren't really happening anymore, the storylines kind of diverged for a while.
