I know that I'm NOT going to my uncle's birthday party tomorrow, because it's at a beach way the eff away from where I live and it would be an enormous pain in the ass to get there, and also because I really don't care for my aunt. Feel kind of bad because I like my uncle but it really would be ridiculous for me to try to go.

Tell them next time to have the party not so far away! Or just hint at it sadly.

They've had this party every year at this location for a really long time, like 15 years or something.

In years past, I've usually gotten a ride with my mother, but she's out of town this year so she's not driving up, and also I am not living at home and the place I'm living in now is significantly less convenient to the party location.

Just one of those things.

I don't know what I'm going to do instead, but I think I might try and go up to the farmer's market tomorrow morning, and then try my hand at cooking homemade pasta, just for kicks.
