One of the most frustrating things about yaoi is that you can have two perfectly manly men and someone is still going to turn at least one of them into a chick with a dick. I hate that! I read yaoi for men dammit! Not weepy chicks with dicks and manginas! Gah! Drives me up the wall.

Exactly. Not EVERYTHING has to fit into the perfect little categories, and doesn't have to be pushed to those extremes. A guy in a couple can be submissive without becoming a weeping whimpering uke.

I love Iruka cause in the fandom bits I like he can...sorta play house wife (For lack of a better term) without being a cliched man woman. (Honestly, looking at em, neither LOOKS feminen, but Kakashi is way closer then Iruka)

Yeah, I think Kakashi fits the bishie mold more closely than Iruka. But since he's usually cast as uke, he often gets robbed of his masculinity. So frustrating. I like him as a loud mouth over protective ninja teacher, not a constantly blushing kunoichi with a penis. =/ Why must people ruin my shiny things? *huggles them*

I have a panel I run about beating out yaoi sterotypes. Except so far ususally it's a room full of people like us going "GOD YES." and all the people that need to hear it a) leave the room when they hear there will be no hot smex or b) are so delusional they don't get it.

Yeha, it drives me nuts they way they cut his balls off :/ Also, why is it in like every doujinshi ever of them Kakashi never takes off his pants. *random*

Fankids flock together and perpetuate those horrid stereotypes. Worse yet, Japanese yaoi offerings usually do too, so they're getting it from their source materials even. I read somewhere that when a yaoi mangaka was asked to have her pairing switch off, she was confused. She didn't know they did that! *sighs* It would be nice if we could stamp out those stereotypes, but the rabid fangirls cling to them so desperately. I've spoken with some who just can't imagine switching, they just can't see their favorite characters taking it. It's frustrating on all fronts x_X

It's a seme thing. They get to keep their clothes on while the uke is stripped completely, it's like, by keeping his clothes and stripping his uke, it's just another means of complete domination over him. It's not just Kakashi, it's many semes.

Yeah :/ I've gotten to the point where, if I honestly see someone using Seme/Uke as valid terms, I avoid them. Like the girl who fight over OMG it's Sasu/Naru not Naru/Sasu. Gag me.

I must usually run in fandom where that's not common. It makes sense (Well, not sense, but you know what I mean), they're just the only ones I've seen it so much with.

I run a yaoi guild on Gaia and we still have kids popping up and claiming that they're "yaoi" as if it's a sexuality. They'll try and post ads looking for their uke or seme. It makes me want to bust some heads open.

I read quite a lot of yaoi manga and it's pretty common to leave the seme with some clothes on. I guess it's taboo to see a seme's ass or something ^_^;

Oy. Yeah, I run a slash oriented rp, and I've taken people to task for using "Uke" as a character description.

I dunno how I never noticed it. Tho I think I was sorta starry eyed when so much came out in English, and then got feed up real fast.

I feel ya there. When it first started coming out, I snatched it all up. Then I slowly realized "Hey! Half my collection is crap I never wanna read again!" x_x And of course, that's the stuff the fangirls are all over like flies on shit.
