This secretmaker's life needs to be ruined, if she has been in a relationship for two years based on the fact that she likes playing pretend with her partner-- assuming the partner isn't just as delusional and believes she's loved for who she is, not someone she RPs who DOES NOT EXIST. And yeah, it is a big deal to me, because this person has confused reality and fantasy enough to think that being really into OTP RP makes her in love with someone, and to not care that she's fucking with someone's feelings over it.

People fall in love for weird reasons. She's obviously aware that there's something weird about it, she's not delusional. Big deal for her, perhaps, but not for you.

You got some sort of personal stock in this? I mean, it's a random person on the internet who you probably don't know, why are you so ready to see her burn?

I don't know, I just really don't like shitty people?
She doesn't even consider the fact that maybe she isn't in love with someone if all she cares about is RP and doesn't mention feeling bad about it, just that she's sad she won't have a chance at the OTHER girl she only likes because of RP.
I'm not really sure how anyone could not be pissed off by that. Unless you're the person who submitted it.

It doesn't say that. It says "I think I'm only in love with them because of X". Which is fair enough, it's happened to me (not with RP, obviously, but with something else). It doesn't mean she's a shitty person, just means that she's realizing she's got the wrong feelings for the wrong reasons.

And I'm not the one who submitted it. My RP territory's mostly robots and flaming skeletons on bikes. I just don't see the point in assuming she's not got enough problems.

I can understand considering that maybe you only like someone for their RP. I've wondered it myself sometimes. Of course, it wasn't true and I would never get into a relationship with someone based on the fact that I enjoy pretending to be someone else with them (er, hello? Train wreck waiting to happen). But saying you "fell in love" with someone because you enjoyed RPing video game characters shows a clear sign of disconnect with reality. And obviously she is not going to be enlightened anytime soon. There's no "Hm, maybe this is a negative pattern and I should stop basing my affections on what people RP," just "Oh, it's too bad I can't do the exact same thing to her that I'm doing to my girlfriend."

If it hadn't been for that part, I probably would have thought it was a fairly positive realization/examination of her feelings, and a possible changing of her ways. But I don't see any real regret in that post.

I see someone wondering if she fell in love for the right reasons after seeing that a shift in pairing interests is changing how she feels towards the other girl. She does need someone to set her straight and possibly a long talk with her girlfriend, but I fail to see how ruining her life will help anything.

And I fail to see how her getting to keep both of these girls in her life will help anyone involved. If they find out the truth and they're able to work it out, that's dandy, but it seems to me that, until she learns to separate fantasy from reality, she's nothing but a negative influence on both of them.

Which is why she should talk it over with them and explain 'yeah, I've been wondering this'. If I was the girlfriend I'd want it too.

If that's her plan, I think that's fine. I just really don't get that impression. The post makes it seem like all she really cares about is replacing the girlfriend with the friend because OMG, she RPz more fun video game guys!

I didn't get that vibe. If she meant that, she wouldn't say "I think".

Just seems wrong to try and guess their meanings and motives without knowing the whole story.

Oh, I don't really have a problem with her admitting that she's afraid that's why she got together with her girlfriend-- that's good, at least she is starting to recognize unhealthy behavior. What I have a problem with is her complaining a few lines later that she doesn't have a chance with the friend.

That one was an afterthought, though.
