I have no problem with actors playing LGBT roles if they don't identify that way, because they are acting. Demanding a gay actor play a gay role is stupid. As for trans characters, if they have transitioned, then in that case, I can see how it's much better to cast an actual trans actor - in that case, I'm not saying it's totally wrong to cast a non-trans person (because there's no one way a transitioned trans person might look), but in that case it seems more "accurate", as well as gives a job to an aspiring actor who is trans, who has very limited options otherwise.
