I have actually never seen a mosquito caught in water. I assume they're just too light/well distributed to get caught in something that isn't very viscous.

Maybe if the surface tension of the water was broken, some insects get into trouble that way... but on the other hand mosquitoes emerged from larvae in the water so they're probably evolved to deal with it. /thinkythoughts

Well I figure at the very least momsquitos have to be equipped to lay eggs in water.

Maybe not so much dadsquitos, but then it's relatively rare to even see a dadsquito even just flying around.
