Why? Unless the character is supposed to be EXTREMELY passing, and obviously post-transition, I'm not sure how it's more accurate. I have no issue with a woman playing a trans woman if there is no suitable trans alternative. But lots of trans people don't pass, or aren't fully transitioned, and in that case why couldn't a man (who doesn't identify as trans) take the role? They very well COULD be trans, it's not like you can always tell at first glance, yo.

Because there's a whole cultural narrative of guy-in-dress = comedy/shock value that you want to avoid.

If you can't find a black person to play a role written for a black person it would still be better to have another human to play it than a gorilla, because of all the black people = monkeys racism.
