I was going to make this secret. Sort of. Metalocalypse IS one of my fandoms.

And I just...really fucking hate her art. I just didn't want to say anything and be a horrible mean person.

Just. Her style is unique and not really that bad, I kind of like it. But the way she portrays the characters just... it hurts me. So bad.

I agree that she's talented and her art is really distinctive...I just REALLY HATE IT.

I would probably like it better if she just said they were original characters or something.

Jesus yes. I-in my head I just convince myself that they are OCs. If I try and imagine her Skwisgaar being.. Skwisgaar I cry a little.

Everything she draws looks exactly the fucking same! Change the hair color and bam, it's supposed to be someone else. Her style is unique in that "Argh! My eyes!" kind of way and she keeps drawing the same stuff over and over and over. I hate "artists" like that!

Oh no, I totally agree, everything DOES look the same. I mean it's unique in that no one else does it like that, and you can always recognize it.

Yeah, I'd like to see YOU draw anything NEARLY as good as she does.

Also, In my opinion. Her stuff does not look the same. I can actually see the difference in all her drawings. >8) And I'm quite sure she doesn't just change the hair color on her drawing either.

Completely concurred. But that art helped scare me away from that fandom.

You started this by making *your* opinion public. Therefore, anyone can respond.

If you let art you don't like "scare" you away from something, you deserve to not have anything to do with that something. And we who are fans of both the show and the artist are glad you aren't around.

...For christ sakes it's a tv show that isn't even 10 minutes long...calm down. I personally like her style, repetitive as it may be. I can't draw near as well, and I'm not into the fandom, I just like the show itself.

But seriously, getting so worked up about this just seems very...juvenille. Jesus, get a sense of humor.So she makes Skwissgar a slut. LAUGH. It's funny.

Granted, there are artists whom I don't like in the fandom either, but almost all of them are 13-16-year old squealing goth-reject fantards who are all like "OMG NATHAN AM MY BOYFRIEND" and creating Mary-Sue OC hell-spawns based on their own crap-ass selves. And it's even worse when they attempt pr0nz... ;_; My eyes BLEED.

At least Hallo has a vision, and consistency in that vision, which is more than I can say for some. She has also both grown and improved as an artist (compared to her early works, even within the fandom).

Well, I suppose it's for the best that you're not with us. The community has enough wank as it is; we don't need people like you adding more. :P

Don't you think it's a little bit unfair to say that the people who criticize her art can't draw? Regardless of whether they can or not (and I know plenty of very talented artists who don't care for her work either, not for any personal vendetta or envy but simply because it doesn't appeal to them visually or they look at it with a technical eye and can't get past anatomical issues), you don't need to be an artist to know what you like and don't like, just like you don't need to be a writer to know what authors you like, and how many people with favorite actors do you know who can act themselves?

But I digress. I won't give my opinion on her work here because I don't feel like adding any drama, and I'm not necessarily defending the anon commenter, just saying that people know what they like and are welcome to their opinions.

Hey, I can't draw and, frankly, I love her art. It's like... the Aeon Flux/Reign: the Conqueror guy (whose name I can never remember), except they have internal organs and the lines are much cleaner and it's stylized like woah. I also see some later-period Batman and general animé influence, but it's sculpted into something unique and distinctive.

Of course, I'm also not part of that "fandom", and I'm only really into Deathklok porn cos, frankly, I know too many guys just like the main characters and I swear I had a weekend just like the Dethklown episode, so I'm totally only into it for the wrongness. And I love wrongness. X-D And I'm sure Yngwie Malmsteen, who is so totally the inspiration for Skwissgar, is absolutely terrified, disturbed, and strangely aroused — and despite the fact that he's an amazing guitarist, that is totally a good thing. X-D
