1. As a cosplayer I firmly believe cosplay should be done because you like it, if it makes you happy, do it and fuck the haters. 2. Of course body insecurity is a killer and idk how to help with that (though keep in mind even skinny people have to wear a lot of shapewear under spandex, just cause spandex hugs everyone in unflattering ways), but as for your face, so many of the pretty girl cosplayers you see photos of online are wearing a lot of make up. It doesn't mean they aren't pretty to start with, but for photos/con floors/etc some contouring can add the kind of umph that puts cosplay over the top. Its like theatrical make up! Anyone can learn to do it, and it also helps me feel way more confident in a cosplay.
