Star Wars fandom is going to get... interesting... after VII comes out. Especially since Disney has said that all the EU stuff put out before they bought the rights to the franchise just never happened. So, it's going to be a pretty big battle between the OT people, the PT people, the old EU people and those just jumping in as the NEW EU gets rolling. (Han has a wife that isn't LEIA?)

Honestly, it's not worth the trouble anymore as much as I love Star Wars. I think Disney is throwing the baby out with the bathwater to reject all the Old EU, when they could grab the BEST parts of it and make use of it.

I'm sorry you don't feel the love from the 'creators' anymore though. That's rough. They shouldn't be putting stuff like that out there anyways. Talk about alienating your fanbase and turning off sales.

Han had better not be married to someone other than Leia or I will pee my pants with rage right there in the theater

oh well in that case they can just be a threesome together

it was something in the comics? I saw the link for the page here. I wasn't happy either. Star Wars 'canon' is so screwy at this point, that I'm thinking I might as well just make my own. I'll start with the fall of the Old Republic, keep the original trilogy and some of the interesting stuff from the X-Wing novels, maybe Han's past as possible King of Corellia and junk the rest. (Maybe Mara Jade, I kind of liked her.) The rest at this point is kind of 'meh' to me. Especially since no one can keep anything straight.

long answer, is long. sorry. Star Wars. this is middle school to college nerdom for me.

My heart breaks for the EU folks because no one deserves to have their canon "erased" by the suits. However, since I'm not super engaged to SW canon, I'm excited for the new trilogy.

And I don't hate on Prequel fans but I do think that Episode One, at least, is unforgivably bad. There was no excuse for that shit. Jar Jar binks isn't even the worst part of it.
