Idiocracy is amazing. I love that Comedy Central picked it up and plays it all the time.

Exactly! The movie doesn't feel terribly dated at all. I don't think people really "got" the movie and marketing campaigns are still necessary. Very few movies can be successful without a good marketing campaign. Word of mouth only goes so far (Borat and Hangover are notable exceptions)
