Re: Mods in Dragon Age fandom
(Anonymous) 2015-09-19 04:00 am (UTC)(link)Yeah, I can understand both sides of the argument. It's easy for me to view romance mods more on the same level as self-insert fanfics than anything. At the end of the day they can't change canon and they're only meant for someone's personal pleasure rather than to make a statement, so I think people have the right to use them.
Saying that, I actually do agree that changing Dorian's sexuality comes across as skeevier than the other mods considering his past! But like I said, I don't think most of them do it to intentionally to erase gay characters, just to make playing easier for themselves.
