Former fattie here, and you know what? If it really bothers you that much, it is entirely within your means to change it. Is it easy? Not necessarily, no. But is it possible? Absolutely. It boils down to whether you're fine the way you are or whether you'd rather put in the effort to change it. I decided I wasn't happy being fat and that being confident about my body was worth the effort to lose weight.

OP clearly doesn't seem to be fine with it, which would seem to suggest that losing weight is something they might want to consider.

This. I hate it that this whole "fat positive" movement has basically turned into an excuse to shame fat people who want to lose weight. The way they keep talking over everyone, trying to pressure people into not trying to lose weight because "OMG YOU'RE FLAWLESS AND BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER HOW FAT YOU ARE" no matter what you yourself think is fucking bizarre.

"Former fattie"s are so evangelist. Thinking everyone should be like or can be like them. They've seen the light!

Yes, because no one should ever be encouraged to change themselves in a way that would make them happier.

I have several plus-sized friends who cosplay all the time and are confident and comfortable with themselves, to which I say: rock on. They're happy the way they are, and if it's not causing them any health issues then there's no reason for them to lose weight.

The fact that OP felt the need to make this secret is a pretty clear indicator that their weight is something that bothers them. So why shouldn't people encourage them to make a change that would make them happier when they obviously aren't happy the way they are?
