They're happy the way they are, and if it's not causing them any health issues then there's no reason for them to lose weight.
The fact that OP felt the need to make this secret is a pretty clear indicator that their weight is something that bothers them. So why shouldn't people encourage them to make a change that would make them happier when they obviously aren't happy the way they are?
