Well, if you like the music and can dance to it, then it worked. I think Meghan Trainor's stuff is all meant to be dance music primarily, and the silly lyrics are meant to be funny but secondary.

My roommate mentioned last week that the beat/instrumentation of this song reminds her of popular Christmas songs, and now I can't unhear it. :|

I can't recall for the life of me what the beat is actually called... but I swear Dear Future Husband (and another Olly Murs song) uses it as a sample of some sort...
