I think nostalgia goggles have blinded you to some of the things that happened on LJ. Some of the wank the happened in the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fandoms is legendary.

I do not remember this "getting along on LJ" that you speak of.

I should clarify that this secret was probably 80% because I thought it was funny

This seems like one of the more pleasant places I've found to hang out, tbh.

There have been some rude/mean people now and again, and folks trying to stir up drama, but in the threads I've noticed it in, it dissipates rapidly.

Every once in a while I agree with this, and then I usually right after that remember why people nuked their journals in roaring drama-fires like every other day.

I still kinda miss it; one thing LJ's heyday did was make conversations easier to follow and create hubs. Big, festering hubs. Cauldrons of delicious, soupy drama. Tumblr's harder for that.

FS is fairly tame, except for whoever the hell goes batshit for Europe every other day or so.
