That does sound nasty. I grew up in a country with giant cockroaches. Try having one fly into your face (during mating season they fly). They still don't bother me nearly as much as ants. Never got bit by a cockroach.

That's the grossest part. They never much bothered me except when they flew. A roach on the ground, I just step on it. I've never seen them swarm like ants, so one or two and I can just crush them. But flying in my face? No.
