I liked Amy, Rory, and River quite a bit to begin with, but their respective stories just kind of went off the rails. I hated how it seemed like Amy and Rory existed to be tortured (nor the fact that it was eventually implied that Amy is physically abusive to Rory, and this was played for laughs because HAHAHA isn't it hilarious when it's a woman hitting a man!), and I hated how River's initial agency was reduced to a lifelong, partially conditioned obsession with the Doctor. And I didn't like that she was Amy and Rory's child -- that's something that bothers me about Moffat, his tendency to want everything to mean something and for everything to tie together, even if it doesn't actually work. He's too focused on being clever.

Clara I don't really have an opinion on, as I haven't seen much of her run. From what I have seen, however, I don't completely understand why she's so disliked.

Yeaaaaaa, that's my major complaint with River. Before the reveal I was on the fence about her, but after I was just disappointed. The whole "she's Amy and Rory's daughter" thing did not help.

The whole 'accidentally making a Time Lord' thing really ruined it for me. It was so clearly Moff getting carried away with his fantasies.

I feel like it's an easy enough thing to happen, but I think it ruined any chance of me ever being happy with the character.

Maybe the show will prove me wrong, though. I'm open to change!
