I don't think the problem with her is as an actress; I thought she did really well with what she was given. It was just most of what she was given made no sense.

I think it made sense in the second half of season 7. at least on a character basis. and not only did it make sense, it was materially different from Amy et al. The actual comparison is Donna, but even then, she is materially different from Donna.

I really like the second half of season 7, okay

Haha, fair enough. And I'll accept that there was an explanation for the erratic writing of her character previous to that. I may not have liked that explanation, but I get why other people do.

TBH I don't really like that explanation either.

I think I'm probably just taking a very specific version of the character I like, and a very specific dynamic with the Doctor, and kind of unmooring it from everything else that happened with the character.
