Her music is boring. She comes across as fake. Her conscious artistic decision is not appealing to me.

It's okay to like her. I don't. Calm down.

That's cool, you don't have to like it. I don't like criticisms like "has no soul" and "manufactured" and "fake" b/c they're mostly bullshit and add this weird objective / moral superstructure on top of just not liking the thing.

you can just say you don't like thing, you don't have to say that the person who made thing is devious or whatever

Yeah, I hear you. Her affectations and style don't work for me. I'm not the person who said she had no soul, but something about her style doesn't allow me to get into her and see her music as genuine, whatever that means. She comes across as too calculated for me.

That said, I don't come across her too often, so it's not like she is this celeb who I have to deal with. So she doesn't really bother me. I'm just not into her, and those are the easy reasons for me to give that people seem to understand best.

It's absolutely something that's affected, and I can completely get why that wouldn't work for everyone. It's just the language bugs me, and the concepts underlying the language bug me, and the fact that a lot of people seem to share these (to me, kind of silly) concepts bugs me as well.
