Seems like a really weird fucking hashtag. It is supposed to be to show support for Planned Parenthood. But wouldn't a better plan be to show all the other stuff that PP does? Especially considering abortion services only account for like...3% of what they do.

Also, the hashtag sounds like it is celebrating abortions, which can be pretty hard for people who had to have them but didn't want them.

Because people no longer understand how to talk about women's health unless it's abortion and only abortion. Besides, as we all know there are no other things a woman needs besides that. Her health revolves solely around if her uterus is packing.

I went in the hashtag out of curiosity and every single tweet I saw tagged with it was some variation of, "If you had an abortion, you should kill yourself" or "This tag makes me sick to be a woman." Not even joking. This hashtag doesn't seem to have been well thought out.

Mostly because - and i kind of agree - it's like talking mostly about the other stuff PP does is kind of like you're trying to excuse or hide the abortions/abortion counseling, and women are already shamed enough about abortions.

So while the hashtag is a bit...not well thought out, i do agree that women should not be ashamed of having had an abortion, and that we should be able to talk about them - *because they're legal and safe* - just like any other medical procedure.
