for what it's worth, I really liked her story. I don't even get how she's "obsessed with babies" for being bitter about HAVING HER SEX ORGANS REMOVED. Hello? I'd like to see what Tony would do if someone just cut off his balls. So what, right? he still has a penis, so he can have sex. no problem!

The main problem here is a symptom of how the whole genre of superheroes has been aimed at boys only for so long. There simply are not enough noteworthy women, so the one woman in the team's storyline will always be problematic in some feminist reading, because people will expect her to symbolize all women. Whining about certain writing decisions for a character like that doesn't change a fucking thing and is, in my humble opinion and pretty narrow definition, more unfeminist than a writer of a femle character can ever get, because it tries to police ways in which women may be depicted, narrowing their roles to stereotypes again, albeit "positive" stereotypes as seen from a "progressive" point of view. Sadly, these are just as hurtful to women who will not conform to them.
