Yea, when she first 'joined' the team I wasn't happy at all. It isn't that I hated the portrayal of the character (Amy does a great job as far as I'm concerned), but I wasn't sure about that direction either. I, like you, didn't want all the bad she had done to be completely forgotten.

But I can't lie and say that both the actress, her character arc and the chemistry she had with the other cast members didn't change my mind. Now Root is easily one of my favorite characters on the show, and though I feel like certain aspects of her change might be pushing it a bit for some people, I also feel like on a whole it makes sense for her. I'm willing to run with it because I think the show is doing a compelling job with her.

So...sorry OP. (Seriously.)
